Bruce and Jeff

director of Development

Bruce has spent his adult life involved in international missions. He is enthusiastic about taking care of our ministry partners with the same passion that we take care of our ministry recipients in Haiti. Bruce is a strong believer in Biblical fundraising and his development philosophy is much like his evangelism philosophy: They cannot say “yes” unless you ask!  He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and Dallas Theological Seminary. Bruce and his wife Catherine have four sons and live in Dallas, Texas.

John Mark is passionate about serving God and implementing excellence in everything LiveBeyond does. He is responsible for all of LiveBeyond’s Haitian programs. His mission is to improve the systems and practices utilized and to increase LiveBeyond’s impact in Haiti. He is married to Lauren Vanderpool and currently lives in South Carolina.

director of EVANGELISM & Discipleship Training

Jacklyn graduated with a B.A. from Texas A&M University in the spring of 2016 (Whoop!). She has had a heart for missions since 2006, when she took her first mission trip to Mozambique, Africa. Her desire is for all Haitians to know and accept the gospel of Jesus Christ. She works alongside Pastor Sargesse preaching the gospel in villages in Thomazeau, as well as teaching a discipleship training class to LiveBeyond's Haitian staff. She made the leap and moved to Thomazeau full-time in May 2016.

David Johnston was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. David received his bachelor's degree in geography from the University of Tennessee where he studied physical, social, and cultural geography. He also studied environmental science from the University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. He is an avid outdoors photographer and hiker.

David first experienced everything Live Beyond had to offer in September of 2013 and was immediately hooked. He and his wife Tayler moved to Haiti to work for LiveBeyond in April 2017.

director of maternal health

Tayler is originally from Jackson, Tennessee. She and her husband Dave met at University of Tennessee Knoxville. She then transferred and received her bachelor's in Nursing at Cumberland University. Tayler completed her masters in nursing with a specialty in nurse-midwifery at Frontier Nursing University, as well as a post-masters certificate with a specialty in women's health. She is now a Certified Nurse-Midwife and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner.

The Johnston's first trip to LiveBeyond was September 2013, and within a few months they were planning to move down. Tayler went back to school, and they moved to work for LiveBeyond as soon as she finished. Tayler's goal is that no woman in Thomazeau (or throughout Haiti) will have to give birth at home alone and that mothers and babies will not die of preventable causes.

Chelsea grew up in the Texas panhandle. After graduating from Abilene Christian University in 2010 with a bachelors and masters degree in Accounting, she moved to the Fort Worth area to work for a public accounting firm. In 2015, she served on her first LiveBeyond mission trip and fell in love. She has always had a passion for missions, but was unsure how her spiritual gifts and type-A personality would be useful there. A few months later, God orchestrated an opportunity for her to be LiveBeyond's accountant. It's the dream job she didn't know existed.

Chelsea is the mother to two precious puppies, Constance and Journey.

Combining experience with education and a fervent desire to serve the Lord in the developing world, David Vanderpool has grown up in the field witnessing first hand the power of service through love. He has a bachelors degree in Biblical Text from Abilene Christian University, a Masters Certificate in International Studies and Non-profit Management from Texas A&M, and a Masters of Agriculture in International Agricultural Development from Texas A&M. David also studied at the Southern Institute for Appropriate Technology, focusing on agricultural development and water enhancement. David served as MMDR’s International Projects Director until 2012 when he was recruited by the US Army to work in Afghanistan as their agricultural specialist.  After completing his tour in Afghanistan, David returned to civilian life, and married Devin. He served as LiveBeyond’s Agriculture Director and Base Manager from 2013-2015. After working on some agriculture projects in India, he is currently serving as the Director of Marketing and the Director of Agriculture as of May of 2017.
