My first mission trip with LiveBeyond!

My name is Chancey Stevens and this was my first mission week with Livebeyond.

My church is connected to LiveBeyond through the Stallings and the Vanderpools.

My favorite part of the mission week was getting to help and show love to the people of Haiti. Also, creating relationships with some of the people who live there and work for Livebeyond.

My most memorable moment was when Evans finally got up the courage to let Dr. Clint pull his tooth that he had tried many times before to have pulled. Also, when at a maternity village visit a young boy had asked if I would nurse him. I told him if I had any milk I would in a heartbeat. There are many more memories for sure.

I will definitely be back every chance I can.

The people of Thomazeau changed my life by showing me that it is not the things we have that give us joy-it is truly the hope we have in Jesus and the love we have in each other as his followers.

I have no previous experience to base the progress of Livebeyond on but I can see the big picture the Vanderpools have painted and fills me with hope and willingness to do more.

I have planned to live beyond by complaining less and loving more. And to talk to people about the needs of others, especially those in Haiti and to do what I can to help.

I’m from outside of Paris, TX in a rural community named “Unity.” I have been married for 17 years to my high school sweet heart. We have a 15 year old daughter and a 12 year old son. They are great kids most of the time. Lol. I graduated in 2001 from North Lamar High School and began a career in dental assisting. I now work front desk with some amazing people at Spencer & Kerby Dental in Paris, TX. I very much enjoyed getting to put my dental assisting skills to good use for the people of Haiti at Livebeyond with Dr. Clint Spencer. I can’t wait to return! ️
