Can you believe the middle of the year is right around the corner? We want to take this opportunity to provide you with an update on the progress with the Nutrition Program. The work LiveBeyond is doing through our Nutrition Program is crucial as Haiti continues to have one of the highest levels of food insecurity in the world (United Nations).
At the end of 2020, many of you donated to the efforts of ending malnutrition in our region of Thomazeau. It is truly beautiful to see the Lord work in so many lives! Because of your generosity to LiveBeyond, we can all come together to create life-saving measures for this community. Without you, LiveBeyond wouldn’t be able to reach the number of lives that we do!
We are happy to inform you that we are currently on track to provide meals for 6,400 children! While this isn’t the complete amount of estimated malnourished children in our region, it is great progress toward meeting our end goal.
LiveBeyond will be able to provide this many meals because of our partnerships with Food for the Poor & Convoy of Hope. These partnerships ensure a steady supply & proper distribution of food for these children. We will be receiving 15 tons of food per month in order to provide 6,400 meals to children in our region of Thomazeau. Yes, you read that correctly, 15 tons per month!
We are grateful for these partnerships and we look forward to what is to come. Thank you for your continued generosity so these children can receive life-giving nutrition! As we move forward in our progress with the Nutrition Program, we will continue to keep you updated.
“Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God. He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them — he remains faithful forever. He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free, the Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous.” – Psalms 146: 5-8
