With Giving Tuesday coming up on Nov. 28 and holidays on the horizon, you’re about to get bombarded with requests from charities hoping you’ll support their efforts. LiveBeyond will be among the 10 million nonprofits worldwide seeking funds for the communities we serve. Like LiveBeyond, some organizations use your donations to heal, feed, educate, and rescue those living in perilous conditions.

In it, you’ll see we use your donations to provide nutritious meals, clean water, education, maternal health services, and medical care in Thomazeau, Haiti and on Israel’s West Bank. Both are racked by violence, oppression, and extreme poverty. But people in both communities are facing a brighter future because of your funds and God’s blessings on LiveBeyond’s efforts to improve their quality of life. Education: The LiveBeyond schools and Johnny’s Kids programs in Haiti and Israel are staffed with excellent teachers and support staff, along with doctors and therapists for children with disabilities. Because of your donations, students and staff alike receive two nutritious meals a day, five days a week. We are proud of our students, who have a 100% pass rate on their exams!
Food and Water: LiveBeyond partners with Convoy of Hope to provide 15,000 meals, five days a week, in addition to the food produced by the farm. To provide clean water in Thomazeau, LiveBeyond installed 97 purification water pumps that pump 8-10,000 gallons of water each day. These pumps serve 200,000 people who now experience a higher quality of life and far fewer illnesses.
Maternal Care: LiveBeyond’s Maternal Health Program in Thomazeau employs excellent Haitian doctors, nurses, and staff who provide weekly medical care, supplements, nutritional support, and maternal health education to 1400 mothers and mothers-to-be. As a result of this program, the maternal mortality rate in Thomazeau has decreased by 73%! In Israel, mothers of children with disabilities in the Johnny’s Kids program were treated to a day out this year. LiveBeyond knows the emotional, mental, and sometimes physical toll of parenting special needs children, and wanted to provide these moms with a fun, relaxing gathering. During their special day, mothers joined together to share stories and bond over their experiences, thereby creating a much-needed support system.
Agricultural Training: The LiveBeyond Farm is the direct result of our donor’s contributions, combined with hard work and agriculture education. Created from a plot of rocky soil, this sustainable farm produces a myriad of fruits and vegetables. It provides more than 7,000 meals to families in Thomazeau. Our farm is proof that, with the right tools and knowledge, sustainable farming is possible in Haiti.
Church: Residents of Thomazeau and the surrounding area gather at the LiveBeyond church each week to worship, pray, grow in faith, and enjoy Christian fellowship with each other. Throughout the week, school staff and those in the Maternal Health Program begin their day with devotionals.
This is just a glimpse of what LiveBeyond is doing to help people survive and thrive in a broken world.
